Third Annual Animation & Visual Effects Academy

The Animation & Visual Effects Program and LaPREP recently hosted the 3rd Annual Animation & Visual Effects Academy (AVEA) at LSU Shreveport. The four week summer program provides 20 area high school students with hands-on instruction in computer animation and film making and includes instruction on desktop graphics, film making theory, film production and editing and visual effects. The participants use professional-level tools and techniques to create a short film under the instruction of professional filmmakers, visual effects editors and film compositors.

The screening of the AVEA student film, Ryan Donovan and the Enchanted Diamond of the East, premiered at the Robinson Film Center on Sunday, July 24, 2011.
